Google recently introduced the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. The most notable thing in these phones is the ‘Actua’ display in Pixel 8 and the ‘Super Actua’ display in Pixel 8 Pro. According to the company, Actua display can offer ‘real-world clarity’ and a brighter display. Let’s have a look at the Super Actua display in detail.

Super Actua display

Super Actua is the display technology used by Google in Pixel 8 Pro. This tech makes the display brighter. Google also calls the display on Pixel 8 Pro the brightest display on a Google Phone yet.

The Super Actua display panel on Pixel 8 Pro is rated to offer 1,600 nits HDR brightness and 2,400 nits peak brightness. The regular Pixel 8 has an Actua display panel that boasts 1,400 nits HDR brightness and 2,000 nits peak brightness.

If we compare it with other flagship devices, Actua and Super Actua panels of Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro easily beat the competition. iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro Max have HDR brightness of 1,600 and a peak brightness of 2000 nits. Samsung Galaxy S23 and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra are rated to offer 1750 nits peak brightness. So, we know that the Pixel 8 Pro has the brightest display and will surely provide a better outdoor experience. Even in direct sunlight, you will experience true-to-life Ultra HDR images.

Both Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have OLED display tech that supports full 24-bit depth for up to 16 million colors and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio.
