Apple’s devices such as iPad, iPhone, and MacBook come with iMessage. It is Apple’s messaging platform that lets users send and receive messages, share photos, share locations, and more. It provides a seamless messaging experience. But what if you no longer reach someone via iMessage? All your messages are no longer getting a response. Could it be that you have been blocked? In this article, I will explain a few signs that may help you understand if you have been blocked on iMessage.
iMessage typically shows read receipts. If you are seeing delivery reports and read receipts, you are not blocked. In case you only see a Blue bubble message without any delivery notification or read receipt, you may have been blocked. If your messages consistently show “Delivered” even after a long wait, you may have been blocked. Someone is not too busy to read the message. If you see ‘Not Delivered,’ it doesn’t mean you have been blocked. Sometimes, you don’t see delivery reports instantly if the other person doesn’t have an active internet connection. You may get a delivery report later when the other person gets an active internet connection.
Does green text mean blocked?
If your message suddenly starts showing a green bubble, your message is sent as an SMS. In this case, either the other person blocked you or no longer uses iMessage. The other person may also have switched to Android. So, you no longer can send iMessage.
Try checking the contact’s profile information. If you no longer see your profile picture, it may suggest that you have been blocked. iMessage also lets users control who can view their profile information.
You can also try placing a phone call to a contact. If you only listen to continuous ringing without any response, it may indicate that you have been blocked. FaceTime calls will also not go through. The other person may be too busy to talk. Give them some time and call later. If the response is still the same, you might have been blocked.
There may also be a possibility that the other person might have disabled iMessage temporarily or have a bad internet connection. Apple also doesn’t provide notifications for being blocked. So, there is no certain way you can tell if you have been blocked on iMessage.
