Now it is necessary for all vehicles, private or commercial to use FASTags to pay fees at the toll plaza. FASTag is an initiative launched by NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) for enabling easy and cashless toll payments. FASTag is a rechargeable RFID tag attached to cars for toll collection. It must be affixed on the windscreen of your vehicle and payments will be automatically deducted from the FASTag.
After the implementation of the FASTag system, now vehicles do not need to stop at toll plazas to pay the toll. As soon as the vehicle crosses the toll plaza, the toll fee is deducted from the FASTag wallet.

How to buy Paytm FASTag
Paytm is also one of the FASTag providers. So, you can buy Paytm FASTag and affix it on your vehicle. It works at app toll plazas on National Highways across the country. Paytm offers 2.5 percent cashback on all toll transactions done at NHAI plazas for the financial year 2019-20. So, using Paytm FASTag is also beneficial.
How much does FASTag cost
Paytm charges one-time fee of Rs. 100 and Rs. 250 security deposit. Threshold Amount varies from vehicle to vehicle

Steps to apply FASTag through Paytm
Open the Paytm app and search for FASTag in the search box at the top. Tapping on the FASTag option will take you to the FASTag section of the app. Here Tap on Buy Fast and then enter vehicle details on the next page.
After filling all the details, click on Buy Now and your order will be processed within a few hours. Paytm will deliver FASTag at the delivery address you mentioned while ordering the FASTag.

How to recharge Paytm FASTag
Follow the same process. Open the app and search for FASTag in the search box at the top. After selecting the FASTag option, tap on recharge.
If you have money in your Paytm wallet, it will recharge the FASTag using that. Otherwise, you will be asked to add money to your Paytm Wallet before the recharge.
