Recently, Samsung launched A series and M series of smartphones to take on Xiaomi, Realme and Asus like brands in budget and mid-range segment. Samsung is using Exynos 7904 for smartphones in price range of Rs. 10000 to Rs. 18000. In the same segment, Other Android phone manufacturers are using mostly Snapdragon 660. So, it is obvious that most of the people now want to know what chipset is better. So, we took some time to check both chipsets in detail and then checked our smartphones based on these chipset perform. Here is the comparison of Samsung Exynos 7904 and Snapdragon 660. If you were looking for Samsung Exynos 7904 vs Snapdragon 660, you should read this article carefully.
In this article, I will give you a detailed comparison of Exynos 7904 vs Snapdragon 660.

Both Exynos 7904 and Snapdragon 660 are manufactured using the 14nm LPP FinFET process.
If I see the CPU configuration, Exynos 7904 has traditional Cortex architecture. The chipset has two Cortex-A73 performance cores clocked at 1.8GHz and six Cortex-A53 efficiency cores clocked at 1.6GHz. This chipset comes with 16nm node-based Mali-G71 MP2 GPU clocked at 770MHz. The GPU supports OpenGL ES and Vulkan 1.0 API.
In Snapdragon 660, the CPU has four semi-custom Cortex-A73 performance core clocked at 2.2GHz and four semi-custom Cortex-A53 ‘efficiency’ cores clocked at 1.7GHz. It also comes with 14 nn GPU Adreno 512 clocked at 850MHz. It supports graphics APIs such as Vulkan 1.0 and OpenGL ES.
Snapdragon 660 has more high-performance cores in Kryo 260, so overall CPU performance is way better than Exynos 7904. Since the Adreno 512 is a 14nm GPU and has better clock speed, it has an edge over Mali-G72.
On Antutu Score, Snapdragon 660 based phone easily score over 140,000 but Exynos 7904 phones reach close to 110000. Snapdragon 600 also gets a better score on Geekbench and Octane 2.0 benchmarks
When it comes to Display, Snapdragon 660 beats Exynos 7904 easily. It supports Quad HD (2560×1600 pixels) display and even has the ability to support 4K external displays. On the other hand, Exynos 7904 supports Full HD and Full HD+ Display up to 20:9 aspect ratio.
Exynos 7904 supports up to 32 megapixels single camera as opposed to up to 24 megapixels camera support in Snapdragon 660. Exynos 7904 can also handle a triple camera that Snapdragon 660 misses out. Both the chipset support video recording up to 4K 30fps.But camera performance depends on the ISP and the processing software. So, we cannot say much here. But it is worth to note that Exynos 7904 is the only processor right now that can offer triple rear cameras in sub Rs 15,000 phones.
Both support LTE Cat.12 for uplink and LTE Cat.13 standards for downlink, so data speed will be similar. Here, it is worth to note that Snapdragon 660 supports Bluetooth 5.0 but Exynos 7904 supports Bluetooth 4.2.
Snapdragon 660 comes with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging technology that offers faster charging speed. Samsung also promises a fast charging tech but doesn’t offer much details. In testing, phones with Snapdragon 660 charges faster than phones with Exynos 7904.
Both Exynos 7904 and Snapdragon 660 are mid-range processors but Snapdragon 660 is better when it comes to performance. The advanced custom Kryo cores and Adreno 512 GPU makes Snapdragon 660 better. The Exynos 7904 is slightly underclocked and is not as powerful as Snapdragon 660.
