Nothing loves building hype in unusual ways, and the company has done it again. This time, it has shared an image of the shiny Pokémon Arcanine, and it immediately sparked talk about a new special edition Phone (3a).

The teaser was posted by Zac from the Nothing Community team. The image is named “Marketing.ntg” and includes the names of the five winners from the Community Edition Project 2025. These are the people whose designs were selected seven months ago, and Nothing had promised that their work would turn into an actual product.

The choice of shiny Arcanine is not random. Arcanine is the internal codename linked to the Phone (3a) series. The shiny version has warm gold and orange tones, and the colours look very close to one of the winning community designs.

One of the winners, Emre Kayganci, created a design called Translucent Memories. It uses a green shade with a translucent style. The colour pattern matches the tone of the teaser image, which makes the clue even stronger.

Because of this, it looks likely that Nothing is preparing to launch the Phone (3a) Community Edition. The company did something similar with the Phone (2a) earlier this year, and a special edition based on community input fits perfectly with Nothing’s overall identity.

However, Nothing enjoys teasing without giving the full picture. So there is always a chance the company is hinting at something else; maybe a new colour option or a limited-edition accessory.
