Microsoft is hosting a Windows and Surface event in San Francisco on October 7. Local AI is expected to be one of the main themes of the event.
The company says the event will focus on “Windows, NVIDIA RTX Spark, Surface and the broader PC ecosystem.” Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and Microsoft Executive Vice President of Windows + Devices Pavan Davuluri will also attend.
The timing makes the event interesting. NVIDIA has already confirmed that RTX Spark-powered Windows PCs will start arriving in October, and Microsoft is among the companies preparing hardware based on the platform.
Microsoft announced the Surface Laptop Ultra earlier this year, but has not yet shared complete details about its availability and pricing.

The presence of both Nadella and Huang makes the RTX Spark part of the event especially notable. Microsoft says the three executives will discuss the latest developments across Windows, RTX Spark, Surface and the wider PC ecosystem.
