Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Wolverine will require 79.36GB of storage space on PS5 at launch. A day-one update is expected to increase the total installation size to around 81.4GB.

The game will be available on September 15, with digital pre-loads starting on September 8 at midnight local time. This gives players a full week to download the game before launch.

The storage requirement is fairly reasonable for a major PS5 release. For comparison, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 required around 88GB at launch. Wolverine is also taking a different approach to its world design, focusing on a more linear, story-driven experience instead of Spider-Man 2’s large open-world structure.

Despite that focus, Insomniac is promising impressive technical performance. Marvel’s Wolverine will run at 60 frames per second with ray tracing enabled on the standard PS5. Players will not need a PS5 Pro to get this combination of frame rate and ray tracing.

The game takes Logan across several locations during his journey, including the Canadian wilderness, Madripoor and Shinjuku. These different environments are expected to give the game plenty of visual variety despite its more focused structure.

The day-one update will also bring several improvements and features. Insomniac has confirmed that the patch will include stability improvements and a full Photo Mode, giving players a way to capture screenshots from Logan’s journey.

New Game+ will also be available from day one. Players can replay completed chapters and full missions while keeping the abilities and upgrades earned during their first playthrough.

The mode will introduce Nightmare Challenges with tougher enemy encounters. Logan will also have a higher level cap, giving players additional progression to work toward after completing the main story.

Marvel’s Wolverine will launch for PS5 and PS5 Pro on September 15 for $69.99. With pre-loads opening a week earlier, players can have the game ready to play as soon as it officially launches.
