Paytm has given its refreshed app an Independence Day makeover with a new tricolour-inspired experience. Along with the new look, the company is highlighting several features focused on payments, spending management, privacy and security.
The Independence Day edition builds on Paytm’s recently refreshed app, which comes with a cleaner interface and brings several financial tools together in one place. The app continues to offer Paytm UPI payments, spending insights, bank balance checks, rewards and other financial services.
The new update also highlights features such as Paytm Pocket Money, Spend Summary, Split Bills and biometric authentication. These features are designed to make everyday payments easier while giving users more control over their spending and transactions.
Paytm Pocket Money feature aims at teenagers and allows them to make UPI payments while giving parents visibility and control over their spending.
Paytm has also added Spend Summary, which helps users track where their money is going. The feature can give users a clearer view of their spending instead of requiring them to manually check individual transactions.
For shared expenses, Paytm Split Bills allows friends and groups to divide bills and settle their respective amounts through Paytm UPI. The company is also highlighting biometric authentication, which provides another way to authorize payments.
The refreshed app includes several privacy-focused features as well. Hide Payments allows users to hide selected transactions, while personalized UPI IDs and transaction labels give users more control over how their payment information is displayed and organized.
Paytm is also promoting its Gold Coins rewards feature. Users can earn coins through eligible everyday payments and redeem them for digital gold. The app also continues to offer Paytm Postpaid to eligible users, allowing them to use a credit line on UPI and repay later.
Paytm says the refreshed app is part of its broader effort to bring payments, spending management, credit, rewards and security features into a single app. The Independence Day edition adds a temporary festive layer to that experience with its tricolour-inspired design.
The company has not announced any major changes to UPI payments or introduced a new financial service as part of the Independence Day edition. Instead, the update mainly gives the refreshed Paytm app a patriotic look while bringing attention to some of its newer features.
