Capcom has confirmed that Street Fighter 6 has crossed 7 million copies sold worldwide. The milestone comes almost exactly three years after the game launched on June 2, 2023.

When Street Fighter 6 was first released, it received a strong response from both critics and players. Reviewers praised its polished gameplay, improved online experience, rich content, and accessibility features. Many considered it one of the best fighting games released in recent years.

Players also welcomed the game. Unlike Street Fighter V, which faced criticism at launch for its lack of content, Street Fighter 6 arrived with multiple game modes, including the World Tour single-player campaign, Battle Hub, and traditional online modes. The Modern Controls system also helped attract newcomers who found traditional fighting game controls difficult.

The game’s sales journey has remained impressive:

  • 1 million copies sold in June 2023
  • 2 million copies sold in July 2023
  • 3 million copies sold in January 2024
  • 4 million copies sold in September 2024
  • 5 million copies sold in June 2025
  • 6 million copies sold in November 2025
  • 7 million copies sold in June 2026

However, current player activity may be even more impressive than the sales numbers. According to Steam data collected by Techlomedia Gaming, Street Fighter 6 recently reached a new all-time peak of 72,877 concurrent players on May 28, 2026. This means the game is drawing more players today than it did at any point during its launch period. The game currently has more than 22,000 players online, while its 24-hour peak stands at over 45,000 players.

These numbers suggest that new content updates, character releases, esports events, and the Nintendo Switch 2 launch have helped bring both new and returning players back to the game.

However, Steam data only tells part of the story. Street Fighter 6 is available on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch 2 as well. Since Capcom does not disclose player numbers across all platforms, it is difficult to estimate the total active player base. Still, the actual number of people playing the game is likely much higher than what Steam data shows, especially during major updates and tournament events.

The game is also performing well on Twitch. At the time of writing, Street Fighter 6 has more than 5,100 active viewers across 178 live channels. Its all-time Twitch viewership peak stands at over 326,000 viewers, showing that the game continues to attract a large audience whenever major tournaments or content updates arrive.

The strong player and viewership numbers show that Street Fighter 6 is not relying only on past sales. The game still has an active community that continues to play, watch, and compete regularly.

Looking at current trends, Street Fighter 6 appears to have plenty of room for growth. Capcom continues to support the game with new fighters and seasonal updates, while the competitive scene remains active worldwide.

If the game continues adding players at its current pace, crossing 8 million sales next year looks realistic. If Capcom maintains its current support strategy and future character releases continue to generate interest, Street Fighter 6 could eventually cross 10 million copies sold.
