KRAFTON India has officially announced BGMI Lite, a lighter version of its popular battle royale game Battlegrounds Mobile India. The new version is aimed at players who may not have powerful enough smartphones to run the standard BGMI smoothly. The company says BGMI Lite will launch in India by the end of 2026.

The move could help KRAFTON expand the BGMI player base further, especially in a market where a large number of users still rely on entry-level and budget smartphones. The standard version of BGMI has become more demanding over the years as the game has received new graphics, features, maps, and gameplay improvements.

BGMI Lite is expected to address this problem by offering a more accessible version of the game. While KRAFTON has not yet shared detailed specifications, Lite versions of mobile games are generally optimized to work on devices with less powerful hardware. They can also be designed to perform better on slower or less stable network connections.

KRAFTON India has not revealed how much the gameplay will differ from the regular version of BGMI. The company is also yet to announce the minimum system requirements, supported devices, game size, or whether BGMI Lite will include all the features available in the main game.

The publisher says more details about the game will be revealed closer to launch. This includes information about pre-registration, which is expected to open ahead of the release.

For now, KRAFTON has only confirmed that BGMI Lite is planned to launch by the end of 2026. If the company manages to deliver a properly optimized version without cutting too much of the core BGMI experience, the game could make the battle royale title accessible to a much larger number of smartphone users in India.
