The new label is designed for creators who regularly use artificial intelligence to make content. Once enabled, it appears on the creator’s profile and also alongside their posts across Feed, Reels, and Explore.

This builds on Instagram’s existing “AI info” labels, which are already used to mark individual posts that involve AI tools. If a post already has an “AI info” label, that will take priority and show instead of the broader “AI Creator” tag.

Instagram has clarified that enabling this label will not impact reach or recommendations. It is only meant to inform users, not restrict creators.

AI content on Instagram is rising. With the latest tools, creators can now generate hyper-realistic images and videos that look almost identical to real people. In many cases, it is becoming difficult to tell whether a person in a post actually exists or is fully AI-generated.
