HP has launched the HP OmniPad 12 tablet in India. The new Android tablet is designed for students, professionals, and first-time PC users who want a device that can work both as a tablet and a lightweight laptop.

The HP OmniPad 12 comes with a detachable keyboard, which makes it easy to switch between tablet and laptop modes. The overall design feels clean and minimal, while the Denim Blue finish gives it a slightly premium look.

The tablet is slim at just 7.3mm thick and feels portable enough for daily travel, online classes, office work, or entertainment. The bundled keyboard cover also makes the device more practical for typing documents, replying to emails, or attending meetings on the go.

The HP OmniPad 12 features a 12-inch 2K display with a resolution of 1200 x 2000 pixels, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and up to a 90Hz refresh rate. The display looks sharp with good viewing angles, and the taller aspect ratio makes browsing, reading, and multitasking more comfortable. The 90Hz refresh rate also makes scrolling feel smoother.

The tablet is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon SM6475Q processor paired with Qualcomm Adreno graphics, 8GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 128GB UFS storage. Storage can also be expanded using a microSD card. It runs Android 16 out of the box.

HP has included a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. The front camera should be good enough for video calls, online classes, and meetings.

The detachable keyboard connects through POGO pins and includes an HP Imagepad for navigation. The keyboard setup makes the OmniPad 12 feel more productivity-focused compared to regular Android tablets.

The tablet also includes quad speakers with DTS:X Ultra support. The speaker setup sounds louder and fuller than what you usually get on budget tablets.

It features Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.. HP has packed a 31Wh battery inside the OmniPad 12 with support for 33W charging. The company claims up to 18 hours of battery life on a single charge.

The device is built for users who want a simple mix of entertainment and productivity without carrying a full-size laptop. The detachable keyboard, large display, quad speakers, and long battery life make it look more practical than a standard media tablet.

The HP OmniPad 12 is priced at Rs. 48,999 in India. It will be available starting June through HP’s online store, Amazon, Reliance stores, and HP World outlets.

It comes in a single Denim Blue colour option.
