HP has launched the HP OmniPad 12 tablet in India, targeting students, professionals, small businesses, and users looking for a device that can handle both entertainment and productivity tasks.
The HP OmniPad 12 features a 12-inch 2K multi-touch display with a resolution of 2000 × 1200 pixels and a 16:10 aspect ratio.
The display supports a 90Hz refresh rate, up to 400 nits of brightness, and covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut. This should make it suitable for watching videos, online classes, document work, and creative tasks.
The tablet comes with a detachable keyboard, which allows users to use it as a laptop-style device when required.
The tablet is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor paired with an Adreno GPU. It comes with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and storage options of 128GB and 256GB UFS storage. Users can also expand storage up to 1TB through a microSD card.
The chipset is designed for mid-range devices and should handle daily productivity tasks, video calls, browsing, and casual entertainment. However, it is not aimed at users looking for heavy gaming or demanding creative workloads.
For multimedia and video calls, the HP OmniPad 12 comes with a quad-speaker setup with DTS:X Ultra audio support. It features a 13MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera with HDR support, and Dual high-SNR microphone array. The setup is designed mainly for online classes, meetings, and video calls rather than photography.
The HP OmniPad 12 runs Android 16 out of the box. HP has also preloaded education and skill development applications, including iPrep, Lexillion, and Brands.live, targeting students and young professionals.
The tablet supports Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and comes with a USB Type-C port.
HP has used recycled materials in the OmniPad 12. The tablet features recycled aluminium, while the detachable keyboard uses post-consumer recycled materials. The device is also EPEAT Silver registered and ENERGY STAR certified.
