Bharti Airtel has launched a new Priority Postpaid service in India. The company says the new offering is designed to provide more stable and reliable connectivity, especially during periods of heavy network traffic.
The service uses 5G network slicing technology, which Airtel says helps improve network performance for Priority users by intelligently allocating network capacity in real time.
According to Airtel, the technology allows the company to create multiple virtual networks on top of a single physical network infrastructure. This helps manage traffic more efficiently and ensures Priority customers get a more consistent experience during crowded events, peak usage hours, or busy network conditions.
The company says users should notice more dependable connectivity while streaming videos, attending online meetings, gaming, browsing, or using other data-heavy services.
Airtel explained that the new service works by dynamically segmenting available network resources to maintain better service quality for eligible postpaid users.
While the technology is relatively new in India, Airtel says network slicing is already being used in countries like the United States, Singapore, United Kingdom, and Malaysia.
With this rollout, Airtel claims it has become the first telecom operator in India to offer such a service to customers.
The Priority service is available across all Airtel postpaid plans. Existing postpaid customers do not need to change their plans manually, as the benefits will be enabled automatically.
Meanwhile, prepaid users who want access to the new service can upgrade to Airtel Priority Postpaid through the Airtel app or by visiting Airtel retail stores.
The service currently requires smartphones that support 5G standalone (5G SA) connectivity along with the latest software updates.
Airtel says users can check compatibility directly through the Airtel app. If a required update is pending, customers may see it inside their phone’s Settings menu.
