Metasports Interactive, a mobile-first competitive sports gaming company, has announced that it has raised $20 million in User Acquisition (UA) funding from Metica, a growth financing company based in London. The funding will be used to grow its cricket-based multiplayer game Hitwicket in global markets.

Metasports Interactive is the company behind the game Hitwicket, a competitive mobile cricket strategy game. The game has already reached more than 18 million users across 109 countries since its launch. It has built a strong player base with good retention and steady monetisation.

The new funding will mainly go into user acquisition and marketing. The company plans to scale aggressively in international markets and expand its reach. It is targeting around 8x growth in the next 18 months.

Along with funding, there will also be a technology partnership between the two companies. Metica will use its platform to improve in-game revenue and optimise performance. This is expected to improve overall monetisation and support long-term growth.

Metasports Interactive was co-founded by Kashyap Reddy and Keerti Singh. The company says the goal is to build a global gaming business from India and reach cricket fans worldwide.

UA funding is a growing trend in the gaming and app industry. In this model, funding is used specifically for user acquisition, and returns are linked to performance. It is becoming popular because it helps companies grow without equity dilution.

With this deal, Metasports Interactive joins a growing list of Indian gaming companies attracting global capital through new funding models. It also shows how data-driven mobile games are becoming more attractive for international investors.
