Google has added a small but useful update to the Google Play Store. Users can now search within app reviews using a new search bar.
The search bar appears inside the reviews section of an app or game. Once you open all reviews, you will see it at the top. You can type specific keywords and find reviews that mention those terms.

For example, if you want to know whether an app has ads, you can search for “too many ads” or “no ads”. If you are worried about battery drain or bugs, you can search for those directly.
Earlier, users had to scroll through hundreds of reviews to find information they needed. Whether it was ads, bugs, battery drain, or performance issues, there was no easy way to filter information. Now, you can simply search for phrases and get relevant feedback in seconds.
The feature has been in testing since November and is now rolling out more widely. As usual with Google, the rollout is gradual. Some users may already see it, while others might have to wait a bit longer.
It is important to note that the search only works with exact keyword matches, so you need to type the right terms to get useful results. It also requires at least two words to search. Results do not update as you type either, which makes the experience feel slightly incomplete.
Still, this is a step in the right direction, and we can expect improvements in the coming months.
