vivo has introduced the vivo T5x 5G in India. The phone comes as the successor to the vivo T4x 5G and brings a few noticeable upgrades, especially in terms of processor and battery capacity.

The phone features a 6.76-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1200 nits peak brightness. A punch-hole cutout at the top houses a 32-megapixel front camera. While several phones in this price segment now use AMOLED displays, vivo has continued with an LCD panel here. That is not necessarily a drawback because the high refresh rate still ensures smooth scrolling and a fluid user experience.

The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Turbo processor, replacing the Dimensity 7300 chip used in the previous model. According to vivo, the chipset can deliver an AnTuTu score close to one million, which suggests solid performance for everyday tasks, gaming, and multitasking in the mid-range segment.

The device runs Android 16 with vivo’s custom interface on top. The company has promised two years of Android updates and four years of security updates for the phone. That level of support is fairly standard for this category.

The phone includes a 50-megapixel main camera with a Sony IMX852 sensor along with a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, the 32-megapixel camera also supports 4K video recording, which is still not very common in budget and mid-range smartphones.

It comes with stereo speakers, USB Type-C audio, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for quick unlocking. An infrared sensor is also included. Connectivity options include 5G (SA and NSA bands), 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and support for GPS, GLONASS, and Beidou navigation systems.

The phone now includes a 7200mAh battery, which is significantly larger than what most smartphones offer in this price range. For many users, this could translate into comfortably getting through more than a full day of usage without worrying about charging. The device supports 44W fast charging, the same charging speed offered in the previous model.

The phone carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, and also comes with MIL-STD-810H military grade certification. These features are usually seen in more expensive smartphones, so their presence here makes the device slightly more appealing for users who want a tougher phone.

The vivo T5x 5G will be available in Star Silver and Cyber Green colours. Pricing starts at Rs. 18,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant, while the 8GB + 128GB model costs Rs. 20,999. The 8GB + 256GB version is priced at Rs. 22,999.

The phone will go on sale from March 24 through Flipkart, the vivo India online store, and offline retail partners. Launch offers include up to Rs. 2000 instant discount with select bank cards, no-cost EMI options, and bundled OTT access for certain Jio prepaid users.
