POCO has launched the new POCO X8 Pro Max in India. The phone arrives alongside the POCO X8 Pro and brings several flagship-level features to the segment. The phone features a large AMOLED display, a new flagship class MediaTek chipset, and a massive 9000mAh battery.
The POCO X8 Pro Max sports a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel uses the new M10 display material, which improves luminous efficiency and enables a peak brightness of up to 3500 nits. The display also supports Dolby Vision, 3840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and DC dimming to improve viewing comfort.
It features a CNC metal frame and a fiberglass back panel. The camera module uses a racetrack-shaped design and is surrounded by dynamic RGB LEDs, which give the device a distinctive look. The POCO X8 Pro Max comes with multiple durability ratings, including IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K.
The POCO X8 Pro Max is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s processor. According to the company, this is the first smartphone in India to use this chipset. The processor is built on a 3nm manufacturing process and uses a large core architecture with a large cache, which should help deliver strong performance. It has 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and comes in 256GB / 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. To manage heat during heavy workloads, the phone uses a 3D Ice Loop cooling system with a large 5800 mm² vapor chamber.
The POCO X8 Pro Max features a 50MP main camera with the Light Fusion 600 sensor. It also supports optical image stabilization and electronic image stabilization for better photos and stable videos. The rear camera setup also includes an 8MP ultra-wide camera. For selfies, the phone features a 20MP front camera that supports up to 1080p video recording at 60fps.
Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, GPS, and USB Type-C. The phone also includes stereo speakers and an infrared sensor. The phone also includes a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. It also has an infrared sensor and stereo speakers.
It packs a 9000mAh battery, which is significantly larger than what most smartphones offer today. The phone supports 100W wired fast charging and also includes support for the 100W PPS charging protocol. The device also supports 27W wired reverse charging.
The POCO X8 Pro Max comes in Black, White, and Blue colour options.
The 12GB + 256GB variant is priced at Rs. 42,999, while the 12GB + 512GB model costs Rs. 46,999.
The smartphone will be available for purchase on Flipkart starting March 23.
