NVIDIA has announced a new update for GeForce NOW, and it brings both new games and a useful upgrade for VR users.
One of the biggest update is improved streaming for virtual reality devices. Users with devices like Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest, and Pico VR can now enjoy streaming at up to 90FPS. Earlier, this was limited to 60FPS. With higher frame rates, gameplay feels smoother and more responsive, especially on large virtual screens.
This upgrade is available for Ultimate tier members.
Along with this, NVIDIA has also added new games to the platform. It is adding Crimson Desert, Fallout 3, Everwind, and Retro Rewind: Video Store Simulator.
While these additions are good news, there is a downside for free tier users. Starting April 1, some popular games will no longer be available for free users. This includes titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Forza Motorsport, Icarus, and Ark: Survival Ascended. These will now require a paid membership.
NVIDIA says this change is due to hardware limitations, as the free tier systems no longer meet the updated requirements for these games.
It is also important to note that GeForce NOW does not provide free access to games. Users still need to own the games or have access through services like PC Game Pass to play them on the cloud.
