Snapchat is rolling out a new creator subscription feature to give creators a new way of monetization. The move puts Snapchat in direct competition with offerings already available on Instagram and Facebook. Creators can earn directly from their audience and keep them invested in the platform.
Users can pay a monthly fee to access exclusive content from their favorite creators. For this payment, they will get exclusive Snaps and Stories, priority replies from creators, and an ad-free Stories experience. This gives creators more control over how they engage with their audience. It also allows them to test new content ideas without relying only on brand deals or platform payouts.
Snapchat is positioning this as a way to give creators more freedom and a stable income stream. Recurring revenue is becoming important as competition between platforms continues to grow.

Creators will be able to set their own monthly subscription price. Snapchat will offer recommended pricing tiers, but the final decision will remain with the creator. This flexibility allows creators to price their subscriptions based on audience size, engagement levels, and content value.
The feature will start rolling out on February 23 to select creators in the United States. Initially, subscriptions will be available to iOS users in the US.
Snapchat plans to expand access to more creators and regions soon. Canada, France, and the UK are next in line as part of the broader rollout.
