Squanch Games has officially announced the release dates for High On Life 2. The game will launch on February 13 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC. PC players will be able to buy it via Steam, Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version will arrive later. Squanch Games confirmed that High On Life 2 will launch on Switch 2 on April 20. Physical editions will be available for both PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 on the same day. The Switch 2 physical release will ship on a game-key card.
This staggered launch suggests that Squanch Games wants to ensure performance stability on Switch 2. Given the fast-paced combat and heavy use of dialogue and effects, this extra time may help polish the experience on Nintendo’s new hardware.
High On Life 2 continues the story from the first game. Players once again step into the role of a bounty hunter who has already saved humanity from extinction. Life seems good, until a mysterious figure from the past returns and puts a bounty on the player’s sister.
The story revolves around uncovering an intergalactic conspiracy that threatens humans yet again. This time, the enemy is a massive pharmaceutical corporation that is literally putting price tags on human life. A new skateboard mechanic has also been added. You can grind, kickflip, and skate through levels while fighting enemies.
The game features a wide range of alien locations. These include massive conventions, alien zoos where humans are on display, and luxury space cruisers. Each area leans heavily into Squanch Games’ signature humor and strange world design.
