WhatsApp is working on a new feature that could make Channels more interactive. The platform is testing a quiz option that allows channel admins to ask multiple-choice questions and engage followers in a new way.

The feature has appeared in the latest beta versions of WhatsApp for iOS and Android. It is similar to polls, but with one important difference. When creating a quiz, admins must select the correct answer before publishing it. Once a follower chooses an option, WhatsApp instantly shows whether the answer is right or wrong. If the correct option is selected, a small confetti animation also appears.

Admins can create a quiz from the attachment menu by selecting the new Quiz option. They can then add a question and multiple answers. These answers can include text, images, or a mix of both. Before sharing the quiz on a channel, one answer must be marked as correct.

WhatsApp also gives admins access to detailed quiz results. They can see how many people selected each option and who participated. If a participant is saved in the admin’s contacts, full details are visible. For others, only limited information is shown based on privacy settings.

At the moment, the quiz feature is only available to a small number of beta users. WhatsApp has not confirmed when it will roll out to everyone. There is also no official word on whether the final version will include all the features currently seen in testing.
