Google has introduced a new virtual try-on feature for clothing in India. The tool allows users to see how different outfits, including tops, dresses, jackets, pants, and shoes, would look on them just by uploading a photo.

First unveiled at Google I/O 2025, the feature uses a special AI model made for fashion. It accurately maps clothes on different body types and takes into account the fabric, folds, stretch, and drape. This gives a realistic view of how the clothing would appear in real life.

Using the tool is simple. When browsing clothes on Google Search, users can tap the “try it on” icon on product listings. They then upload a full-length photo in good lighting, preferably wearing fitted clothing. The AI quickly processes the image and overlays the selected apparel on the photo. Users can see how the garment fits and drapes, save the look, or share it with friends. They can also explore similar styles from the search results.

This tool aims to make online shopping more interactive and visual. Shoppers can now experiment with different styles without physically trying them on.

The virtual try-on tool is now live across India. Anyone shopping on Google Search can use it by looking for the “try it on” icon on apparel listings.
