Google Meet is facing a serious outage in the Asia region, leaving many users unable to join meetings. The issue started on Tuesday night, November 25, at 21:41 PST (Wednesday morning in Asia). While the Google Meet domain still resolves, the web interface is not loading at all. This points to a server-side failure rather than a network issue.
Google confirmed the problem on its Workspace Status Dashboard. It says the outage is limited to Asia, a region with more than 4.8 billion people. Downdetector recorded over 1,700 complaints, with most users reporting that the website does not load. Others reported server connection failures. Many people were caught off guard during morning work hours, and the service has already been down for more than three hours.

At the moment, Google says more details will arrive at 02:00 PST (10:00 UTC). Until then, the only workaround is the Google Meet mobile app, which still works on both Android and iOS. For casual meetings, this is fine, but for professional setups, it is not ideal. Many people need desktop access to share code editors, presentations, design files, or other tools that are not practical on mobile.
This is not the first time Google Meet has faced trouble. In September 2025, the service went down globally due to an overloaded cache in the Static Content Service. Google fixed that issue by rolling back the service, but it showed how even the biggest platforms can struggle under pressure.
