Insta360 has launched its latest 360-degree action camera, the Insta360 X4 Air. It brings 8K video recording at a more affordable price. The camera is priced at $400 and aims to deliver high-end performance in a compact and lightweight design. This makes the camera an attractive choice for creators who want top-quality 360 footage without spending flagship money.
The new X4 Air features dual 1/1.8-inch sensors, a notable upgrade over the ½-inch sensors found in its predecessor. With these larger sensors, users can expect improved image quality, better low-light performance, and more detailed footage. The camera can shoot 8K videos at 30fps, along with 6K and 4K modes offering multiple frame rate options up to 50fps. It can also capture 29MP photos with a resolution of 7680×3840.

The X4 Air has replaceable lenses, a feature that adds durability and flexibility for action shooters. It also includes a built-in wind guard for clearer audio recording and supports Insta360’s magnetic mounting system, allowing quick attachment of accessories and mounts.
It is designed to be light and portable. It weighs just 165 grams, which makes it 15 grams lighter than the Insta360 X4 and 35 grams lighter than the flagship X5. Despite the lightweight build, the camera is waterproof up to 15 meters, and with an optional dive case, it can go as deep as 60 meters.
The device packs a 2,010 mAh battery, capable of recording up to 88 minutes of 8K video on a single charge.
The Insta360 X4 Air is available in Graphite Black and Arctic White color options. The standard version is priced at $400, while the premium “No Drone No Problem” bundle costs $506. This “No Drone No Problem” bundle includes a lens cap and an extended selfie stick. The camera is now available through Insta360’s official website, Amazon, and authorized retail partners.
