DJI has officially launched the Osmo Mobile 8, its latest smartphone gimbal. It brings several new upgrades aimed at improving mobile videography. The new model offers direct phone connectivity, a redesigned tracking module, and support for full 360-degree horizontal rotation. The device is now available for purchase in China.
The Osmo Mobile 8 continues to use DJI’s trusted 3-axis stabilization system but takes it a step further with unlimited 360-degree rotation. It allows creators to shoot smooth panoramic videos and photos. It also supports tracking during movement, making it ideal for action shots and vlogs.

Another notable addition is the built-in extension rod, which helps users capture low-angle or dynamic shots with better flexibility. DJI has introduced an enhanced tracking module that combines tracking, audio recording, and a fill light integrated into one attachment. The fill light also supports adjustable brightness and color temperature, catering to different shooting conditions.
The device promises to deliver up to 10 hours of use on a single charge. It can also act as a power bank, charging your smartphone via USB-C. The new fourth-generation magnetic clamp has been strengthened to hold larger and heavier phones more securely.
The gimbal also introduces ActiveTrack 7.0, a new version of DJI’s popular tracking system, which promises smoother and more reliable subject tracking. Users can even enable dual-camera tracking through the DJI Mimo app, enhancing creative possibilities for vloggers and mobile filmmakers.

The DJI Osmo Mobile 8 is priced at CNY 898 (around $125) in China. The standard package includes the OM Magnetic Phone Clamp 4, the new multi-function tracking module, and a charging cable. For those looking for more, DJI is also offering a Vlog Kit at CNY 997 (around $140), which includes additional accessories.
