Apple has started teasing the launch of a new MacBook powered by its upcoming M5 chip. The hint came from Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Greg Joswiak, in a recent post on X. He wrote that “something powerful is coming” and shared a short video featuring the words “coming soon” along with a silhouette of a laptop.
The laptop silhouette is in the shape of a Roman numeral V, hinting at the M5.
This launch is not entirely unexpected. Tech journalist Mark Gurman from Bloomberg recently reported that Apple is planning to announce a base-model MacBook Pro with the M5 chip this week. The news comes after iPad Pros with the M5 chip were already unboxed on YouTube
According to Gurman, Apple could also announce a Vision Pro headset with a “faster chip” this week. This aligns with recent sightings of a new headset in an FCC filing, suggesting that Apple is gearing up for several hardware updates in the coming days.
While Apple has not officially confirmed the details yet, the M5 MacBook seems set to be the next major product release, continuing Apple’s trend of designing powerful, energy-efficient chips for its devices.
