Instagram has introduced a new feature that allows creators to link multiple reels together in a series. The update makes it easier for viewers to follow stories or content that is shared across several parts.
Until now, creators often asked followers to “come back for part 2” or search their profile for the next video. This was not always convenient, as users could lose interest if they had to scroll around. With the new option, creators can connect reels so viewers can move through them easily using a button at the bottom left of the reel.
The feature works while adding captions to a new reel or by editing older ones through the overflow menu. Once linked, the reels become part of a series that can be watched in order.
This is very useful because many creators post content in parts, especially storytelling, tutorials, or ongoing updates. For example, someone sharing a multi-part travel vlog or a cooking series can now group their videos together. It makes the viewing experience smoother and keeps audiences engaged without interruption.
Instagram says the feature was one of the most requested. It believes this will allow creators to tell richer stories, boost engagement, and even convert casual viewers into followers.
In many ways, this also helps Instagram compete with TikTok, which already has a similar feature. For creators, it means better discoverability and more watch time. For viewers, it removes the frustration of hunting for “part 2” or missing out on the continuation of a story.
This may look like a small change, but it is a welcome one. It supports better storytelling and makes Instagram a stronger platform for creators who share videos in parts.
