Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to release on November 14, 2025. The new entry in the long-running franchise was announced during Gamescom 2025 with a fresh trailer. The game will launch on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, but it will not arrive on Nintendo’s Switch 2 at release.
This is surprising because Microsoft had previously signed a 10-year deal with Nintendo to bring Call of Duty games to its consoles. The deal was meant to ensure parity with Xbox, especially after Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard King in 2023. Despite this, Nintendo players will need to wait until later in 2025 to play the game.
Black Ops 7 continues the series’ tradition of mixing action with psychological twists. The story takes place 40 years after Black Ops 6 and follows David Mason, played by actor Milo Ventimiglia, and his squad as they battle a manipulative enemy that uses fear as a weapon.
The timing of its launch means Black Ops 7 will not have the season to itself. Battlefield 6 is coming just a month earlier on October 10, and early feedback suggests fans are excited for its return. With both games launching close to each other, the competition in the shooter space will be fierce this year.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Steam, and Battle.net. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will also get access on day one.
