Amazon Prime Day 2025 is happening from July 8 to 11, and shoppers across the globe are gearing up for the biggest online shopping event of the year. In India, Amazon India will host Prime Day sale from July 12 to 14. While you are getting ready for the best deals, cybercriminals are also preparing to trick you. They are setting traps to scam innocent users through fake websites and phishing emails.

According to new Amazon Prime Day Scammers, the rise in cyber attacks has already begun. In June 2025, over 1,000 new domains were registered with names resembling Amazon. Out of these, a shocking 87% are already flagged as malicious or suspicious. Many of these websites include phrases like “Amazon Prime” to trick users.

Cybercriminals use two main methods to fool people. They create Fake Amazon websites that look almost identical to the real Amazon login or checkout pages. For example, domains like amazon02atonline51[.]online and amazon-2025[.]top have been created to steal your login information. These phishing sites are designed to look like real Amazon pages, but they exist only to collect your personal details.

They are also sending emails that look official but are designed to create panic and push you into clicking fake links. Check Point found a phishing email with the subject line: “Refund Due – Amazon System Error.” It appeared to come from Amazon, asking users to click a link to update their address. But that link led to a fake login page that captured user credentials.

Stay Safe This Prime Day

If you are shopping from India, the US, Europe, or anywhere else, the threat is real. Here are some easy tips to protect yourself:

  • Always check the URL before logging into Amazon. Avoid websites with strange domains like .top, .online, or ones that use extra characters.
  • Do not click on links in emails or text messages. Open your browser and go directly to www.amazon.com or use the official Amazon app.
  • Look for HTTPS and the padlock icon in the address bar, but still verify the full web address.
  • Use strong passwords and enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your Amazon account.
  • Ignore pressure tactics. Scammers want you to panic and click fast. Take your time.
  • Be cautious of unbelievable offers, especially those shared outside of Amazon.
  • Use safe payment methods, like virtual credit cards or secure payment apps.

Amazon Prime Day is a great time to save money. But it is also the perfect time for scammers to strike. Do not let them steal your data, your money, or your peace of mind.
