At its Galaxy Unpacked event in New York, Samsung unveiled the new Galaxy Z Flip7 and the more affordable Galaxy Z Flip7 FE. Alongside the Fold7, these two clamshell-style foldables bring notable upgrades in display, performance, battery life, and AI features.
Galaxy Z Flip7
Samsung has added its largest and brightest FlexWindow ever on the Flip7. The 4.1-inch Super AMOLED cover screen now offers edge-to-edge usability, allowing you to type messages, check your schedule, and take high-quality selfies—all without opening the phone. It gets 2600 nits of peak brightness, supports a 120Hz refresh rate, and includes Vision Booster for better visibility under sunlight.
Inside, you get a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate for an immersive viewing experience.
Despite packing more features, the Galaxy Z Flip7 is slimmer than ever. It weighs just 188 grams and is 13.7mm thick when folded, making it the slimmest Galaxy Flip yet.
Samsung has used Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and back, and a stronger Armor Aluminum Frame to boost durability. The new FlexHinge is thinner and built using high-strength materials for smoother folding and better endurance.
The Flip7 runs on the powerful Exynos 2500 3nm deca-core processor, built specifically for Galaxy devices. It brings performance boosts across CPU, GPU, and AI tasks compared to the previous Flip6.
For the first time, Samsung DeX is available on a Flip phone. This turns the Flip7 into a mini workstation when connected to an external screen—great for productivity on the go.
Running Android 16 with One UI 8, the Flip7 brings a bunch of Galaxy AI features that work directly on the cover screen. This includes:
- Gemini Live: Accessible on the FlexWindow, lets you do voice searches or ask about flight updates, restaurants, and more.
- Now Bar and Now Brief: These provide real-time app updates, reminders, traffic info, and health stats.
- FlexWindow Personalization: Includes smart wallpaper suggestions and an adaptive clock to match your background.
Samsung has also added advanced camera tools like Real-Time Filters, Zoom Slider, Dual Preview, and Portrait Studio. You can now edit, erase, or enhance your photos directly from the FlexWindow using Photo Assist.
The Z Flip7 comes with a 50MP main camera with OIS and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. For selfies, there is a 10MP front camera. Samsung has added Enhanced Nightography, 10-bit HDR video recording, and flex-mode camera tools to help users take better photos in any condition.
It also comes with a 4300mAh battery, which Samsung claims offers up to 31 hours of video playback on a single charge. The phone supports 25W wired charging, 15W wireless, and reverse wireless charging.
Galaxy Z Flip7 FE
Samsung also launched the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, an affordable foldable that retains the core flip experience. It features a 6.7-inch main AMOLED display. The display has a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 425ppi pixel density. It also has a 3.4-inch cover display with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.
The device is powered by the Exynos 2400 processor with Xclipse 940 GPU. The Flip7 FE also has 8GB of RAM with up to 256GB of storage.
It shares the same 50MP + 12MP dual rear cameras, a 10MP front camera, and Android 16 with One UI 8. You also get Now Brief updates on the smaller cover screen and access to hands-free FlexCam shooting.
The phone packs a 4000mAh battery with 25W fast charging, 15W Qi wireless charging, and Wireless PowerShare reverse wireless charging.
Galaxy Z Flip7 FE is also IP48 water resistant.
Both phones include Samsung’s latest Knox security features, including Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), app-specific secure storage, and post-quantum cryptography in Secure Wi-Fi.
