Xbox President Sarah Bond has officially announced that Microsoft has signed a multi-year deal with AMD. This partnership will power a new range of gaming devices, including the next-generation Xbox console that will replace the Xbox Series X.
In a short video, Bond said the new Xbox hardware will include not just traditional consoles, but also handheld devices, PCs, cloud-based systems, and accessories. Microsoft and AMD will work together to design custom silicon (chips) to improve gaming performance across all of these platforms.
Sarah Bond said the goal is to offer players more choices so they can play the games they love anywhere, anytime, and on any device. The new hardware will support better graphics, more immersive gameplay, and AI-powered features. Most importantly, your current Xbox game library will still work on the new systems.
She also said Microsoft is working closely with the Windows team to make Windows the best gaming platform, confirming the company’s focus on cross-platform play.
Unlike Sony, which is releasing a PS5 Pro, Microsoft is skipping a mid-generation refresh. Instead, it is focusing on building the next-generation Xbox from the ground up. Sarah Bond did not repeat her earlier claim about the new Xbox being the “largest technical leap ever,” but fans are still expecting big things.
