AirPods Are Getting Studio-Quality Audio and Camera Remote Control Features

Apple is making AirPods more powerful than ever. With the upcoming update, AirPods 4, AirPods 4 with ANC, and AirPods Pro 2 will get two new features that will excite content creators. These features are studio-quality audio recording and remote camera control.

The company previewed these features during WWDC 2025. Apple will release these features as a part of the free firmware update coming this fall.

With studio-quality audio recording, you can record with AirPods like a pro. Whether you are a podcaster, singer, or someone who loves recording voice notes, this new feature is a big upgrade. It uses the advanced H2 chip, beamforming microphones, and computational audio to capture clear and natural voice recordings.

Thanks to the Voice Isolation feature, it also works in noisy environments. So, if you are recording on the go, your voice will still sound crisp and clear.

Apple has also confirmed that the feature works across many apps like Phone, FaceTime, Voice MemosDictation in Messages, third-party camera apps, and even with other video conferencing apps.

Another useful feature is the camera remote control. Now you can start or stop recording a video just by pressing the stem on your AirPods. It works with the iPhone or iPad’s Camera app and compatible third-party apps. This is perfect for content creators who film themselves dancing, singing, or performing. You do not need to rush to hit record.

Developers can test these new features right now through the Apple Developer Program. For everyone else, the public beta will be available next month.
