YouTube is now testing a new way to enjoy Premium without spending too much. The company is trying out a two-person YouTube Premium plan. This will allow you to share your subscription with one more person. So, it would be a cheaper option than the Family plan.
YouTube has been pushing more users to switch to Premium. It has made things harder for people using ad-blockers, reminding everyone that the best experience comes with a Premium subscription. Now, it is giving users another reason to switch by offering a more affordable shared plan.

The company is testing this new subscription plan in India, France, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Users must be 13 or older, have a Google account, and be part of the same Google family group to use it.
In India, this plan costs Rs. 219 per month for YouTube Premium and Rs. 149 for YouTube Music Premium. These prices are among the lowest in the world. If YouTube brings this plan to more countries, the prices will likely match local rates.
This plan makes a lot of sense in India, where people are price-conscious and often look for the best value. It is ideal for couples, roommates, or even siblings living together. It gives small households the chance to enjoy Premium features without spending as much as the Family plan, which costs ₹299 for up to five members. But if you have three or more people to share with, the Family plan still makes more sense.

There is no news yet on when or if this plan will roll out to other countries. For now, users who want a cheaper ad-free experience can also look into the YouTube Premium Lite plan. It removes ads from most videos but still shows ads on music and Shorts. It also does not include features like background play or downloads.
