Vivo has officially launched its much-anticipated flagship, the vivo X200 Ultra, at an event in China. X200 Ultra is packed with cutting-edge features and industry-first innovations. It boasts to be a photography powerhouse and comes with a good display, high-end performance, and impressive battery life.
At the front, the vivo X200 Ultra flaunts a 6.82-inch 2K (3168 x 1440 pixels) LTPO AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. This curved panel supports HDR10+, a dynamic 1-120Hz refresh rate, 2160Hz PWM dimming, and DC-like dimming. It boasts smooth visuals and reduced eye strain. The display is protected by Armor Glass, which offers added durability and resistance to scratches.
The device is not only premium but also highly durable with IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance.
The smartphone is driven by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, Qualcomm’s latest and most powerful 3nm processor, paired with the Adreno 830 GPU for high-end graphics performance. The phone comes in multiple configurations: 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM with 256GB, 512GB, or a massive 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The device runs on Android 15 with Origin OS 5 on top.
The standout feature of the vivo X200 Ultra is undoubtedly its triple rear camera setup. It includes a 50MP primary camera with a large 1/1.28″ Sony LYT-818 sensor, f/1.69 aperture, and OIS. The phone also has a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens with the same Sony sensor and 200MP Zeiss APO telephoto camera, featuring the Samsung HP9 sensor, 85mm focal length, f/2.5 aperture, OIS, 3.7x optical zoom, and support for telephoto macro photography. Vivo has also introduced the world’s first “super-light prism” technology and the first large three-group periscope lens design. The camera module also features Zeiss T coating* and ZEISS optics for superior light transmission and reduced reflections.
Vivo has also added an innovative dual imaging chip architecture. The VS1 chip is dedicated to image information pre-processing. It reduces the computational load on the main SoC. Meanwhile, the V3+ chip handles post-processing to enhance overall image quality. The phone supports 4K 60fps 10-bit Log video, 4K 120fps cinematic slow-motion, and is the first to offer 4K time-lapse photography. The phone also has a 50MP front-facing camera with an f/2.45 aperture.
The company has also added a new camera control key with multiple functions, including double-click for quick launch, Slide to zoom, Light press to lock focus, Full press for shutter, Long press for burst shots, and Slide to adjust exposure.
vivo also unveiled a 2.35x telephoto teleconverter, jointly developed with Zeiss. This 200mm lens uses a Kepler-style structure with 13 high-transmittance glass lenses and a wide f/2.3 aperture for enhanced long-distance shooting.
Vivo has also launched the Professional Imaging Kit, which includes a physical handle with a dedicated shutter button and zoom levers standard 67mm filter adapter ring, and a 2300mAh battery. This is ideal for creators who prefer a DSLR-like shooting experience on their smartphone.
The smartphone has an in-display ultrasonic 3D fingerprint sensor. The phone also features stereo speakers, Hi-Fi audio, an infrared sensor, and USB Type-C audio. Connectivity options are 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 7 (802.11 be), Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, GPS (L1+L5), GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, Beidou, NavIC, and USB Type-C port.
The vivo X200 Ultra houses a 6000mAh battery, one of the largest in a premium flagship. It supports 90W wired flash charging, 40W wireless flash charging, and reverse wireless charging. It ensures long-lasting performance with minimal downtime.
