Xiaomi is all set to launch its latest budget smartphone, the Redmi A5, in India on April 15. The phone was introduced in global markets earlier this month, and now it is making its way to Indian consumers. The phone will be launched in the Rs. 10,000 price segment.
One of the biggest highlights of the Redmi A5 is its large 6.88-inch HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi claims this is the largest and smoothest display available in this price range. The display also features a notch that houses an 8MP front-facing camera.
The phone is powered by the Unisoc T7250 Octa-Core processor that should deliver decent performance for day-to-day tasks and casual use. On the back, the phone features a 32MP main camera. It also includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for quick and secure unlocking. Xiaomi has packed in a 5200mAh battery, and the phone supports 15W fast charging.
The Redmi A5 will be available for purchase through Flipkart, mi.com, and Xiaomi’s offline retail partners starting April 15.
