Nothing has quietly launched the CMF Buds 2 in the US, UK, and Europe. The India launch will take place on April 28, along with the CMF Buds 2a and CMF Buds Pro 2 Plus. These new budget-friendly true wireless earbuds come as a trimmed-down version of the Pro model, while still offering a solid set of features.
The CMF Buds 2 follow the same sleek and modern design language seen across Nothing’s audio products. While they do not include the transparent Smart Dial found in the CMF Buds Pro 2, they retain customizable features through the Nothing X app. Users can tweak EQ settings, manage playback, toggle noise cancellation modes, activate the voice assistant, and more.
Each earbud packs a single 11mm PMI + PU driver tuned by Nothing and Dirac, which focuses on delivering bass-heavy output via Ultra Bass Technology 2.0. Even though the Buds 2 support only SBC and AAC codecs, users can still enjoy a rich sound profile along with spatial audio effects for a more immersive listening experience.
In terms of noise control, the Buds 2 come equipped with Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) of up to 48 dB and support a wide frequency range of up to 5200 Hz. The built-in Smart ANC algorithm adapts automatically to your surroundings. It reduces background noise effectively. For calls, the earbuds use Clear Voice Technology 2.0 with 6 microphones (3 on each bud) and Wind Noise Reduction 3.0 to ensure crystal-clear voice quality.
The CMF Buds 2 also include Bluetooth 5.4, dual-device connection, gaming mode with Low Lag Mode (latency drops to 110ms or lower), touch controls, and ChatGPT integration via the Nothing X app. They are compatible with Android 6.0+ and iOS 13+ devices.
Battery life is another highlight. With ANC turned off, the earbuds offer up to 13.5 hours of playback, while the total battery backup with the charging case extends to a massive 55 hours. When ANC is enabled, users still get 7.5 hours on the buds and up to 26 hours with the case. A quick 10-minute charge gives up to 7.5 hours of playback with ANC off.
The CMF Buds 2 will be available in Dark Grey, Light Green, and Orange colours. Buds offer water and dust resistance with an IP55 rating for the buds and IPX2 for the case.
