Nothing Phone (3a) Series to come with Snapdragon SoC

Nothing Phone (3a)

Nothing today confirmed that its upcoming Nothing Phone (3a) series will be powered by a Snapdragon SoC. Nothing Phone (3a) is set to launch on Match 4 and we are expecting more information about these phones until the launch.

It is important to note that the Nothing Phone (2a) series came with MediaTek Dimensity processors. However, this time the company has ditched Mediatek to favor Snapdragon for significant CPU and neural processing unit (NPU) upgrades. NPU upgrade will improve the on-device AI processing.

“I’m happy to announce that we are going back to the Qualcomm Snapdragon series with the Phone (3a). Compared to the Phone (2a) Plus it’s going to have a 25% faster CPU, and a 72% faster NPU,”. Card said in a statement.

We still don’t know what SoC the company will use. An earlier report claimed that Phone (3a) could pack a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset. It will retain the Glyph interface but we are expecting a few changes. The phone should also feature a 6.8-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Nothing Phone 3a series will be assembled in India at Nothing’s Chennai plant.
