Ubisoft is shutting down its arena shooter, XDefiant, in June 2025. The company has already delisted the game and stopped player registrations starting today. Before its closure, XDefiant will still launch Season 3 content, with an exact release date yet to be determined. XDefiant servers will remain active until June 3, 2025.

Mark Rubin, Executive Producer XDefiant, posted on X confirming the news.

THe in-game transactions have been stopped preventing players for purchasing anything in the game. The company has also outlined refund policies for players. Ultimate Founder’s Pack purchasers will receive full refunds. Players who made purchases within the last 30 days will also be refunded automatically within 8 weeks of the announcement.

The company decided to shut down the game after struggling with low player numbers and insufficient in-game spending. Despite initial success—surpassing 5 million players shortly after launch and eventually reaching over 15 million players worldwide, Player retention and monetization efforts fell short of expectations.
