This update focuses heavily on AI-powered features. It is worth noting that these AI features will be exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max and upcoming iPhone 16 models. Here’s a list of features:
AI-Powered Tools
Apple Intelligence takes center stage with tools like Genmoji and Image Playground. These features allow users to create custom emojis and AI-generated images by typing a simple description. Genmoji integrates directly into the iPhone keyboard, while Image Playground is accessible through a new app named Playground. The Playground app lets you create whimsical images.
Siri Meets ChatGPT
Siri receives a major upgrade with ChatGPT integration, enabling it to provide more dynamic and conversational responses. Users will be prompted to download the ChatGPT app and sign in to unlock advanced functionalities, including chat history.
iPhone 16 Camera Control upgrades
iOS 18.2 is also brining three changes for the Camera Control on the iPhone 16.
- Two-stage shutter: Light press to lock focus and hard press to capture photo
- Double-click speed: Option to adjust speed of the Camera Control double-click
- Require Screen On: Single press will automatically open the Camera app.
Mail app redesign

Volume Limit setting
Apple will introduces a new “Volume Limit” control for the iPhone’s built-in speaker. It allows users to set a maximum volume limit for playing audio content.
