Marut Dronetech Pvt Ltd, the drone technology company, has secured $6.2 million in Series A funding led by Lok Capital. The company will use the investment to accelerate product development, manufacturing capabilities, and expand its reach across the country.

Marut Drones will use the fresh capital in various key areas including the development of advanced agricultural drones tailored to meet specific customer requirements, expansion of its service network to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, and establishment of drone agriculture service hubs. These hugs will promote the innovative Drone-as-a-Service model to amplify the technology’s impact on the agricultural sector.

Additionally, the company plans to enhance its team by recruiting skilled professionals across different verticals. It will launch 17 new drone academies, to train and empower a new generation of skilled drone operators. The company is also collaborating with leading Indian institutions for its R&D efforts and creating new drone applications for direct seeding, crop monitoring, and more.

Marut Drones is inviting partnerships from agri-entrepreneurs, large agricultural input companies, equipment manufacturers, and retailers to collaborate to modernize the agricultural industry. The company wants to build a robust ecosystem around drone technology to revolutionize the agriculture industry.

Marut Drones was founded by Prem Kumar Vislawath, Suraj Peddi, and Sai Kumar Chinthala back in 2019. The company quickly grew to a team of over 200 members, a fleet of 750 drones, and a network of over 1,000 drone pilots operating across 14 states across India. It also has India’s first DGCA Type Certified medium category agricultural and fish-feeding drone.
