Rockstar Games announced Grand Theft Auto VI back in December 2023. GTA 6 will be the eighth main game in the GTA franchise and will succeed the immensely popular GTA V. Without confirming the exact release date, the company said that Grand Theft Auto IV or GTA 6 would come in 2025. However, we are still waiting for official confirmation about the release date.
The first trailer of GTA 6 was also released on the same day the company announced the game. Within 12 hours of its release, the trailer broke the record for most first-day views on a non-music YouTube video. Within two days, the video also surpassed the lifetime viewership of Grand Theft Auto V’s trailer. This trailer also surpassed Minecraft to become the second most-watched video game trailer.
The storyline of Grand Theft Auto VI is set in the fictional open-world state of Leonida. It seems we are getting two playable protagonists: a young woman named Lucia and a young man named Jason. We can see Lucia driving around and robbing stores in the trailer. The game could offer cutting-edge graphics and a physics engine for a realistic and immersive experience. We can also expect new gameplay mechanics and features, such as expanded character customization and improved vehicle handling.
Now it has been more than 10 months and GTA fans are waiting for the 2nd trailer to know more about the game. An X user @GTAVI_Countdown claims that RockStar Games could release the 2nd trailer on November 22. He also added a reason to select the November 22nd date.
GTA 6 Release Date
During Take-Two Interactive’s quarterly earnings call in May 2024, Rockstar Games officially announced the release window for GTA 6. It’s confirmed to be coming in Late 2025. Now if we look at the past, RockStar games doesn’t release games in November. So, the GTA 6 release date could be in October 2025.
