Rockstar Games has officially delayed the release of Grand Theft Auto VI. The game, which was earlier expected to come out in late 2025, will now launch on May 26, 2026.
The company shared the news in a short statement, saying they need more time to make sure the game meets the high expectations of fans. Rockstar said, “We are very sorry that this is later than you expected,” and thanked fans for their continued support and patience.
GTA 6 has been one of the most talked-about games ever since Rockstar dropped the first trailer back in December 2023. The trailer gave fans a quick look at the new setting, characters, and overall vibe of the game. Since then, people have been waiting eagerly for more updates.
Rockstar added that their goal with every game is to go beyond player expectations, and they are taking extra time to make sure GTA 6 lives up to the hype.
We might get more updates during the next Take-Two (Rockstar’s parent company) financial report, which is expected on May 15th.
