Uber India has launched a new service Uber Pet for offering pet-friendly rides. So, you can now take Uber rides with your pet. The service is now available for users in Bengaluru.

The service will be helpful when you want to take your pet to a vet. It provides pet owners a hassle-free transportation and also opens a new earning opportunity for drivers.

“Our aim is to provide a seamless experience for pet parents while also creating additional earning opportunities for drivers, allowing everyone to include their beloved pets in their journeys,” said Shweta Mantri, head, rider verticals, Uber India and South Asia.

Uber Pet trip costs more than normal rides. If your pet leaves waste such as excessive hair or damages the vehicle, you will be charged extra as a cleaning fee.

Uber Pet is available for pre-booking in the Uber app. You can schedule rides anywhere from 60 minutes to 90 days in advance. To request an Uber Pet trip, open the Uber app. Enter your pickup and dropoff location. Then select ‘Uber Pet’ under the ‘Choose a ride’ section. Tap ‘Choose Uber Pet’ to confirm the ride. Soon after your booking is confirmed, the Driver will be notified about it.

When your driver arrives, you can bring your pet inside the car. However, it is important to note that you can only bring one small animal such as a dog or a cat. Uber has also made it clear that there is no breed or size restriction.
