Threads, Meta’s answer to X.com, now has more than 275 million users. Mark Zuckerberg confirmed the numbers during the company’s Q3 earnings call. He also says that Threads could be soon the “next major social app” for the company.

The app had 200 million users in August. Considering the current numbers, it seems the app is getting obit one million new sign-ups daily. Not just user acquisition, the app is also seeing increased engagement. This suggests that users are now taking an interest in the platform.

Although the platform is growing in terms of users, the company isn’t expecting anything from it in terms of revenue. Meta is focusing on offering features to increase engagement and make the platform more interesting. Meta is actively working to refine Threads’ algorithms and add features to ensure users stay updated on topics of interest.

Threads made a strong start but is still far behind X. A lot of people initially created Threads account due to hype, but no longer use it. The same people open X multiple times a day.
