At the Indian Mobile Congress (2024), Xiaomi showcased its budget phone Redmi A4 5G. This is India’s first phone to come with Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 Mobile Platform. The smartphone aims to make 5G accessible to a wider audience in the country.
Xiaomi only showcased the phone during the event without revealing specs. Redmi A4 5G looks similar to Redmi 14R and Redmi 14C. The phone has a large circular camera bump with 50 megapixel primary camera. The phone is expected to come with a 6.7-inch LCD 90Hz HD+ display and 5000 mAh battery.
The device also boasts smooth gaming, high-quality video streaming, AI-driven audio, and optimized entertainment experiences.
Commenting on the announcement, Muralikrishnan B, President, Xiaomi India, said, “As we celebrate 10 years in India, the Redmi A4 5G marks a significant milestone in our ongoing mission to bring advanced technology to every Indian. Designed exclusively for the Indian market, it embodies our vision of ‘5G for Everyone’, bridging the digital divide. We aim to accelerate India’s shift to 5G with this device, delivering an enhanced entry-level smartphone experience.”
Xiaomi has yet to confirm the pricing and availability details. The phone is expected to be priced under Rs. 10000.
