MediaTek introduces Helio G100 SoC

MediaTek Helio G100 SoC

MediaTek has introduced Helio G100, its latest 4G SoC for affordable smartphones. This chip is said to be the successor to Helio G99 which was announced back in 2022.

Helio G100 is built on TSMC’s advanced 6nm (N6) chip manufacturing process. It has an octa-core CPU that includes two Cortex-A76 prime cores running at 2.2GHz and 6 efficiency cores running at 2GHz. It also has an ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU to handle graphics requirements. The SoC supports 4266Mbps LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.

It supports up to 200MP cameras to enable high-resolution photography and also offers in-sensor zoom and pixel binning.

The SoC is capable of supporting displays up to Full HD+ resolution with up to 120Hz refresh rate.

The mobile platform has integrated Cat-13 4G LTE modem with support for dual 4G SIM and VoLTE/ViLTE services. It also supports Dual-Band Wi-Fi 5 (a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 5.2 along with GPS / QZSS L1+ L5 / Galileo E1 + E5a / BeiDou B1C + B2a / NAVIC

The 6nm fabrication process offers better power management and extended battery life.

TECNO CAMON 30S Pro will be the first phone powered by Helio G100. We can expect more phones powered by this SoC in the coming months.
