Nothing has today launched its latest smartphone Nothing Phone 2a Plus in India. The phone comes with several upgrades over its predecessor, the Nothing Phone 2a. The company has upgraded internals including camera and SoC.
Nothing Phone 2a Plus features a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,412 pixels) AMOLED display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate for smooth visuals. It also has up to 1,300 nits of peak brightness and 240Hz touch sampling rate. There is also Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
The phone retains the same Glyph Interface that was also seen in its predecessors. This light setup can be used for calls and notifications. Nothing Phone 2a Plus has IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. The phone measures 161.7×76.3×8.5mm and weighs 190 grams.
The smartphone runs Android 14-based Nothing OS 2.6. The company also promises three years of Android updates and four years of security patches.
The phone is powered by octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro 5G SoC and Mali-G610 MC4 GPU. The Nothing Phone 2a Plus is available in two configurations: the base model comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB. The top-end version has 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
The phone has a dual camera setup that includes a 50 megapixels primary camera with Samsung GN9 sensor and an f/1.88 aperture. It also has 50 megapixels ultra-wide camera with Samsung JN1 sensor. The company has also upgraded the selfie camera. The phone has 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 sensor at the front for selfies.
The device has an in-display fingerprint sensor, dual stereo speakers, high-definition microphones, and a linear haptic motor for an enhanced user experience. Connectivity options are 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6 Direct, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, QZSS, 360-degree antenna, and USB Type-C port. The phone also has accelerometer, electronic compass, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, and proximity sensor.
Nothing Phone 2a Plus packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 50W fast charging and 5W reverse wired charging. It promises up to 40.6 hours of music playback time on a single charge. The fast charging can charge the phone from 0 to 100 percent in 56 minutes.
