Dell has confirmed a data breach and is now informing its customers about it via email. The company says that a threat actor managed to steal information of around 49 million customers.

Dell suffers a data breach

A Dell portal was hacked to access customer information related to purchases. The company has already began investigating the incident and says that the breach isn’t a significant risk to customers.

The breached data include Name Physical address, Dell product details, order information, and warranty information. Since the stolen information doesn’t include financial data, email addresses, or phone numbers, it isn’t a big risk to customers.

The breach was confirmed after the breached data was put on sale on Breach Forums. The listing says “49 million customer and other information systems purchased from Dell between 2017-2024.” The information added to the listing aligns with the information disclosed by Dell. So, I believe it was the same data that was stolen from the Dell portal.
