Indian smartphone maker Lava has today sent a media invite for the launch of its first smartwatch in India. The company will launch the smartwatch at an event on April 23. Lava’s first smartwatch will be called Lava Prowatch.
The teaser image confirms the circular dial. A teaser video, posted by an X user, suggests that the watch will have a tough display and could also feature scratch resistance. It will feature a metal chassis with a button and a crown.
Like other smartwatches, Lava Prowatch could offer heart rate monitoring, SpO2 monitoring, activity tracking, and other health-related features. It is not clear if the company is planning to launch a smartwatch powered by Google Wear OS or an affordable watch with a proprietary OS.
The smartwatch market is being dominated y Fire-Boltt, Noise, and Boat. Lava will have to launch good products to compete against companies that are already doing well.
